Leslie Amper, recipient of the NEA Solo Recitalist Fellowship Grant, has delighted audiences with her piano recitals in cities across the nation including Boston, New York, San Francisco and Chicago, and Peterborough, New Hampshire at Monadnock Music's Virtuoso Piano Series. She has appeared in concerto performances with the Boston Pops, the New Hampshire Music Festival Orchestra, and Pittsburgh Symphony. Ms. Amper is a frequent performer on Boston's Emmanuel Music Series, and she has also appeared in chamber music concerts at Bargemusic, Eastern Music Festival, and in Strada, Italy. Her recording of Andrew Imbrie's "Short Story" was selected for the WGBH "Art of the States", and international radio broadcast. Leslie Amper studied with Russell Sherman at New England Conservatory, and holds faculty positions at Longy School of Music and New England Conservatory Preparatory.
Randall Hodgkinson is a member of the Boston Chamber Music Society. He has given solo performances with orchestras of Atlanta, Philadelphia, Boston, Cleveland, and New York. Grand Prize Winner of the International American Music Competition sponsored by the Rockefeller Foundation and Carnegie Hall, Randall Hodgkinson has performed with New York Philharmonic, Boston Symphony and Boston Pops, Iceland Philharmonic and the Orchestra of Santa Cecilia in Rome. Many solo and collaborative recordings include the BBC double 5 star award winner "Petrouschka and other Prophesies" the Grammy Award winner with Dawn Upshaw, “The Girl With the Orange Lips”, the complete music for cello and piano by Leo Ornstein with cellist Joshua Gordon for New World Recordings Numerous appearances in festivals include BargeMusic, Santa Fe Festival, Chamber Music Northwest and Mainly Mozart in La Jolla, California.
Mr. Hodgkinson performs the 2 piano and 4 hand repertoire with his wife, Leslie Amper and the piano trio repertoire with the Gramercy Trio. Faculty appointments include New England Conservatory of Music and the Longy School in Cambridge and Boston University and Wellesley College. He has recorded solo music of Donald Martino and Roger Sessions and concerti of Gardner Read and Morton Gould.
Mr. Hodgkinson holds a B.M. with honors, M.M. with distinction, Artist Diploma, NEC. Studies with Veronica Jochum, Russell Sherman, Leonard Shure. Recordings on New World, Albany.
